It’s a delight to have you on board as a member of our student organisation! For those of you who are not familiar with our group, we are simply a bunch of students banded together on a mission to organise and deliver some memorable and exciting events throughout the year. We have no preference of nationality, interest, gender, religion or other particulars because we are open to anyone and everyone who take interest in our activities.
BSA represents Borneo Student Association, a name that has been passed on through generations of students. Despite that, the current committee is assembled with students with mostly Chinese and Taiwanese origins. The founders of the student group originally were a group of students from Borneo but as time has passed, the group has diversified to welcome students from all walks of life.
In the last few years, our most popular events involved the likes of Dance Parties (Bounce), Ice-Cream Nights, Movie Nights, Sporting Competitions, All-You-Can-Eat Yum Cha, All-You-Can-Eat Sukiyaki, Welcome BBQs, Market Day, Speed Dating, Computer Gaming Events, etc. This year, in light of the recent flooding disaster, BSA decided to provide a helping hand by organising a Flood Relief Coffee Night to help flood victims. As you can see, we are a flexible group that is not afraid to get to know YOU!!!
On the following page, you will find a list of Sponsors for our student organisation for 2011. Upon showing your BSA card, you will receive discounts at these stores with the nominated discount rates. Unfortunately, due to the floods, many businesses were affected and in turn affected us in finalising Sponsors. As a result, the cards are still being printed and will be ready for pickup at a later date. We will send you reminders for pick up at a counter in the first few weeks of the semester so keep an eye out for emails / facebook messages.
Once again, thank you for joining BSA in 2011. We will do our best to organise exciting events and create opportunities for you to meet others and our committee members. As they say, Uni is meant to be the best part of someone’s life. We’re here to help you make that happen for 2011!
We look forward to seeing you all at our events in 2011!
PS: If anyone has any interesting ideas for events, do not hesitate to contact our committee and we will assess whether it is practical!
Kind regards,
2011 BSA International Inc. Committee
